While teaching, both at school and at home, I have been the accompanist/organist for First Methodist for 47 years. My first year started when Mrs. Clarabelle Wright broke her wrist in a fall one Sunday morning while running down the hall behind the sanctuary to get from the organ to the piano for the weekly anthem. These positions have been nothing but a blessing for me! The duties for these positions include the following: accompanying the congregation in hymns, accompanying the choir during anthems and cantatas, playing for weddings and funerals, and of course, practice, practice, practice!
